Company Overview
Nimal Mendis his wife Ranjani & their son Paulmarie formed Mediaeye Productions in the early 1980’s. The Company Draws a Wealth of experience from its involvement in Music and Video from the fifties to the present day.
It was Nimal's first composition “Kiss Kiss Kiss” Recorded in Britain by Mary Marshal that catapulted him on to the music scene. Before he went to England he played piano with Harold Seneviratne in Ceylon, now Sri Lanka. He had No 1 “hits” recorded with Harold, his brother Tissa and Adrian Ferdinands. Singers Sandra Edema, the Jay Brothers Cliff Foenander, saxophonist Edgar Heber were the main artists. The highlights were “Kandyan Express” and “Cherry Blossom Tree”.
Kandyan Dance was recorded in Germany in 1963 and went on to be no2 in Luxemburg. Nimal was a musician of the sixties in London. He appeared with his singing partner Sandra Edema on “Top of the pops” in the UK with his song “Feel his a Clown” in 1968. They were also featured on “Beat Club” in Germany.Today Nimal and his son Paulmarie works with talented young musicians and Singers in Sri Lanka.
